Set dressing

What set dressing resources do people have availalble?  We have a few storage boxes which will double as seating, and we will repaint in guild colours.  We also have a firepit.  It seems likely that between this and the tents, we will be bringing down a van of kit from Oxford, although Mark's garage is straining at the seems somewhat.

What other resources do people have available to make our camp look all campy?

The current plan is that we are likely to be camping in a cartel with the Carta Noctura and the Virtuous Fellowship.  This is at the stage of a tentative agreement, and full details are yet to be agreed betwen the groups.

It occurs to me that some sort of banner would be a fantastic thing to have. Anyone have the artistic skills to make that happen?

I have two collapsable wooden benches and a three foot by three foot folding table, all of which are ideal. I will be bringing them with me whenever possible. However, I won't be at the first event.

I think the tents can be outfitted as one socialising and eating tent (with kitchen area at the back), one medical tent and one tent for performances and rituals. If we use the fourth tent it could be for military purposes (saves filling the other tents with weapons and other paraphinalia of war)

I think we need to keep and eye out for the following in charity shops:

Decent curtains with a woven design on them or heavy velvet curtains for the hospitality suite. Nothing too modern looking in design

Lighter white drapes for the medical tent. (we could do with some spare camp beds for this area if people have got them). Stuff to use as an alchemy kit (I have several alchemy kits for LRP, but they are tailored for specific characters and systems - one is Post apocalypse for example).

Tablecloths, drapes and table coverings (again, nothing too modern looking) Decent, heavy duty candlesticks. Wooden plates, bowls and trenchers. (I have a few of these which I'm happy to donate). Same again, but in metal and/or ceramic. Cutlarty. Goblets. Tankards. Interesting bottles and bowls.

Pictures with highly ornate frames (more ornate the better in my opinion). Mirrors on stands. Chests and interesting cupboardy things (I have a small portable shrine which I might find a way to smuggle along)

Pasting tables might do for an event or two for use in the tends as side tables. Ikea also do a £10.00 wooden folding chair which folds flat, and looks a darned sight better than a pop-up chair with a drape across it, in my opinion.

Easy there, tiger. Getting 4 tents up requires the time and manpower to pitch and take them down and may not be feasible. We were also considering selling some to partially fund the purchase of the others, but if we could make pitching 4 tents work, that might be flexible. The tents only open at one end, so putting stuff at the back of them won't work, sadly. I have thus far indicated to PD that we'd like to pitch 2 at the first event, but this could be upped if people can commit to setup and takedown.

Mark and I are likely to be using one of the tents for IC camping, at least at first, so that leaves three possible ones available for group stuff (although our sleeping tent will of course add presence to our camp).

I'll be there for set up and take down at most events, I'm already booked to arrive thurday afternoon and can leave quite late on the Monday add my flight isn't till 8.

Unfortunately due to having to fly to get to events set up and take down is about my limit on helping with set dressing as weight is an issue for bringing anything, as is budget due to cost of flights. I will happily put some money in the pot, but manual labor will be one of my bigger contribution's.

It is a contribution not to be underestimated. It's amazing how much more quickly these things go when there are a few more people available. Thanks.

I already have four chars very like the Bollo folding chair, along with the matching folding table.

I also have a dining room table with detachable legs which I can bring if there is space in the car/van.

This isn't a very big contribution, but I've got this random scroll with an image of some Mongol horsemen on it that we could hang somewhere. (Possibly soon after my IC arrival from my travels?) It would add a certain exotic touch.

Given the respect in which horses are held in the Empire, this sounds good.
